- Hyperphalangy is a congenital, non-syndromic limb malformation characterized by the presence of an accessory phalanx between metacarpal/metatarsal and proximal phalanx, or between any two other phalanges of a digit, excluding the thumb. Hypherphalangy is almost always bilateral and patients present
