- Bartter syndrome is a genetic renal tubular disease characterised by the association of hypokalaemic alkalosis, increased levels of plasma renin and aldosterone, low blood pressure and vascular resistance to angiotensin II. Two forms of the disease can be distinguished according to clinical criteria
