- Raynaud phenomenon describes an exaggerated vascular response to cold temperature or emotional stimuli resulting in episodic digital ischaemia. It is characterised by paroxysmal vasoconstriction producing initially pallor, an essential component for the diagnosis, followed by cyanosis and erythema.
