- All definitional requirements for amnestic disorder are met. The memory symptoms are judged to be the direct consequence of use of sedatives, hypnotics or anxiolytics. The intensity and duration of use of sedatives, hypnotics or anxiolytics must be known to be capable of producing memory impairment.
