- A bone marrow-based plasma cell neoplasm usually characterised by presence of a serum monoclonal protein and/or urinary light chains. ”CRAB” criteria (calcium elevation (hypercalcaemia), renal failure, anaemia and bone lesions) separate symptomatic plasma cell myeloma from asymptomatic (smoldering)
